Our Weekend at the Farm

Our Weekend at the Farm

It was a quiet weekend at our farm with not very much riding activity, but our horses enjoyed the immune boosting therapy that they received. A Certified Biofeedback Specialist worked on a few of our trail horses. Again, we were impressed with how receptive horses are to this type of therapy. Each seemed more relaxed and happy over all when they were done. One of our horses that is exceptionally tense was noticeably stress free, and as we know, stress...

Our latest changes because of the EHV-1 virus

Our latest changes because of the EHV-1 virus

As the EHV-1 virus can be spread on skin, clothing, boots, etc. we are trying to cut down on any extra activities at our facility. We have been advised to limit all human traffic like clinics, visitors, farriers, scheduled vet appointments, etc. Therefore, we will not hold Sunday’s Dressage Clinic with Martha Diaz to help protect her exposure to other horses as well as ours. We will leave all horses stalled in their own stall to minimize sharing of pasture...

Immune Boosting Measures

Immune Boosting Measures

Here at Miller Horse Farm we are taking prudent measures regarding the concern about EHV-1. We’re cleaning and disinfecting the barn, stalls, and all equipment. As extra support and love for our equine friends, we are also using essential oils to stimulate and boost their immune systems as well as adding some immune boosting herbs and vitamin C to our horses feed. We also can offer equine biofeedback to balance stressors in the horse. You may know that any stress...

Alert on EHV-1

Alert on EHV-1

We at Miller Horse Farm are taking some precautionary measures at our facility until further notice. At this time, we are “locking down” our facility and will not let any horses come in or go out. As of today, no horses at our barn show any symptoms of EHV-1. We are hoping that by not letting any horses in or out, we might be able to keep the risk of exposure down. If anyone would like us to do anything...

Our Sunday at the Amigos Dressage Rated Show

Our Sunday at the Amigos Dressage Rated Show

We had an exciting Sunday getting ready for the Dressage Show. Our day started with bathing the horses and getting them all shiny for the show. After we bathed them and gathered our last few things, we began to load the horses. As we loaded the large Fresian, we noticed that his front shoe was just about off. We took the shoe off and loaded him in the trailer. We headed to the farrier’s house to get the shoe reset....

CHECK OUT THE EVENTS PAGE TO SEE ALL THE INFORMATION ABOUT EACH OF THESE CLINICS. The Theory Clinic (Pilates for Riders) is far from full. All day, Sunday at the Laura Simpson Clinic

All day, Sunday at the Laura Simpson Clinic

We had a great turn-out at the Laura Simpson Hunter/Jumper Clinic on April 17th. The picture above is our very own Macaroni at the clinic. He did very well for his first time jumping higher than crossrails. The day began beautifully. At lunch time is was breezy and by late afternoon the winds had picked up, but it was not unbearable. Thanks to all of you who came out to participate in the clinic. We hope that your time with...

Pilates for riders in mid-May

Pilates for riders in mid-May

First off I would like to thank everyone who has participated in our theory clinic series so far, as well as invite any of you that have not yet been able to attend.  Martha and I  hope that you have been able to apply some of the information discussed to your riding.  All too often, it is far too difficult to try to convey a theory to a student during a lesson when there is so much happening, so fast. ...
