Miller Horse Farm is now offering a horse program for children ranging in ages from
3 – 18 years old! During “Horses 101” emphasis will be stressed on fun with horses while maintaining the highest standards of safety. Miller Horse Farm boasts one of the finest equestrian facilities in the greater El Paso/Las Cruces area. It has large arenas for the experienced student and smaller riding areas to help promote a safe learning environment for beginner riders.
“Horses 101” is a program centered around horses. Our horse enthusiasts will be exposed to top level instruction both on and off the horses. Each participant will learn how to care for their horse through grooming, tacking and riding daily. The decision to ride off lead line will be at the discretion of the instructor. They also will participate in a wide range of horse themed activities and also learn basic horse dietary and medical care. The children will enjoy the experience of watching Douglas Hogue, an AFA Certified Journeyman Farrier, trim and shoe a horse.
They will also get the opportunity to create many exciting keepsakes from their time at Miller Horse Farm such as, a personalized picture frame with a picture of their horse. On Friday, the children will have an opportunity to demonstrate their horsemanship skills they have acquired during their time at Miller Horse Farm.
